To Stitch with Love: A Book Review

Mandy Shaw, author of Stitch With Love, lives in Hailsham, East Sussex, England. She owns her own pattern company called Dandelion Designs. Shaw also teaches and lectures around the United Kingdom and runs her own website selling her patterns and wares. Her website can be found here.

The reader of Stitch with Love receives instructions on the preparation of stitching. In her book, Shaw teaches how to sew blankets, bags, aprons, recipe books, nursery cushions, baby record books, and crib decorations. She gives instructions on how to make bracelets, cushions, document folders, luggage tags, and journals. The book includes a section on Christmas crafts as well, which has instructions on making wreaths and tree ornaments.

In the dedication of Shaw’s book, I quote, “To all those wonderful Mums out there who teach their kids to sew–I am so pleased my lovely Mum taught me.” I love this book and treasure it for my sewing projects. Shaw gives simple, clear and doable instructions.
